Design a ‘Hertford by Train’ travel poster and win a family train ticket to a destination of your choice!
In honour of Hertford North’s 100th Anniversary, Hertford Museum is teaming up with Great Northern Railway to celebrate travelling to Hertford by train.
Whether it’s painting a picture of your favourite Hertford landmark, sketching your local station, or making a collage of the train journey itself, we want to see your posters showing everything that’s great about travelling to Hertford by train.
A winner will be picked from each age category:
- 7 years and under
- 8-11 years
- 12-15 years
The three winners will receive:
- A day return family train ticket to the destination of their choice*
- Their poster displayed in Hertford North station
All submitted posters will be included in an online exhibition on the Hertford Museum website.
How to Enter
Entries cost £3. To enter, upload your entry on our website, or hand your poster on A4 card or paper into the museum. Please include a parent or guardian’s contact details, and the child’s first name and age.
Entries close at midnight on Friday 21st June

Please note that by submitting an entry, you are giving permission for your child’s poster to be shared on the museum website and on social media along with first name and age.
For the prize tickets, the group can be any combination of up to a maximum of two adults and three children under 16 years. Travel is only permitted on Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink services. Other operators’ services are not permitted, except during times of disruption.
