Half Term Holidays Activities for Children: Victorian Science Week

Explore the museum galleries where we will be demonstrating some exciting Victorian scientific theories.




Victorian Visionaries

Saturday 23rd June 2018, 6.30 pm - 8.30 pm, £15 per person


Enjoy a relaxed, friendly evening of drawing with wine and nibbles at Hertford Museum.

Professional instruction, ideal for beginners. Entry fee includes all refreshments and materials. Limited places, advance booking essential!




Sketch Club

Saturday 15th September 2018, 11.00 am - 3.00 pm FREE ADMISSION


Go behind the scenes at Hertford Museum stores. Discover how we store and care for our vast and varied collection. Visit the Roman corn drying oven and learn more about the fascinating Foxholes Farm excavation.  Visit our reference library and see some of our volunteers in action conserving collections in the workroom. Enjoy a cup of tea and cake and FREE family crafts in the Millbridge room.

EJoin Viv Thornton as she leads these great, low impact sessions. It's a fun, new way to keep fit! Refreshments are provided.

Visit to our charming vintage tea room and enjoy the noble British tradition of afternoon tea drinking. A selection of freshly baked cakes and freshly brewed coffee also available. Enjoy the quietness of our beautiful Jacobean garden, the perfect place for tea and cake in Hertford (weather permitting!). Limited seating - to be sure of a table, booking strongly advised. All proceeds to support Hertford Museum charity.

Illustrated Photography Talk and product launch presenting a new range of images generously donated by Martin Smith in support of Hertford Museum. Meet Martin, learn about the fascinating stories behind his photographs and enjoy a glass of wine.
